I wanted to know if anyone could corroborate what my
father claimed to have read in a book on the subject of Irish
genealogy. What I heard was that it was a vague statement that
two McCarron cousins were kicked out of the country by the
High King, over some sort of a fight relating to a woman.
Probably nothing to do with any of us, but I wondered if
anyone had heard the same story.

Hello I am from a village in County Fermanagh which is in the north, there are 10+ different McCarron families within the area of the village and within the county many more, as far as we know McCarrons have been resident here in County fermanagh for at least 400 years.
Patrick McCarron
My name is Patrick McCarron. I am from North Adams, MA. I am one of nine children. My fathers name was Eugene J. McCarron. His Dad was Thomas (from Cambridge MA). And Thomas's Dad's name was Edward McCarron from what I've been told. I believe that Edward (Eddy, or Edwin) may have been from south Boston or Pennsylvania.
At the moment I'm looking for the marriage certificate of Thomas and Blanche McCarron so that I have proof of this conection. They were married in the catholic church (probably in Boston) around 1920 (there first child Victoria was born shortly after. Anyone having any information on this side of the tree please contact me. Thanks!

background. My grandfather is William McCarron, who was closely related to an Owen McCarron. Both lived in Nova Scotia, Canada. We have a limited knowledge of our geneaology.
Owen McCarron was a famous cartoonist, while most worked as steelworkers.
A third cousin is Sidney Crosby, a NHL star who is considered
'the next Gretzky'.
I appreciate the posted information!

I do not wish you wealth today, nor the power to sway a nation
I do not wish you all the joy that fame and rank impart, but
to you I send the greetings of St. Francis of Assisi
The peace of God be reigning in the kindom of your heart
The peace of God be with you from the dawning of morning,
through the bustle of the noon day to the evening's dying
light
The peace of God be with you on your daily rounds of duty
The peace of God be with you in the silence of the night
Though grief and care may fling their frown, The peace of God
be near you, To comfort you and help you bear the burden of your load
Along the upward ways you walk and when the journey's ended
The peace of God be with you at the ending of the road
Unfortunately, there is no "McCarron" county in Ireland. My Dad always thought his family was from the north, but recently shared alot of info that the McCarron Clan came from Donegal.
Cheers. Joanne McCarron

I am just begining to research my name. My father was Charles and his father (I have recently found his Christian name but it is not available to me at this moment) was a soldier killed in the 1914-18 war. He came from Limavady, Derry, N. Ireland and married an Ellen McLoughlin, my grandmother. I am unaware of any connection with the Armagh McCarrons.
Does anyone connect into this bit of my familly?

My second great-grandfather was Patrick Rush who married Isabella McCarron. They lived in Providence, RI. He fought in the Civil War - the side that won! He even fought in parts of TX and LA. Can you image the boat ride down! He was in the 3rd RI Cavalry. I know she is from Ireland, just not where and not really sure who her parents are. Good Luck to all!
