Ray Olger Johnson was born to Alfred and Astrid (Frisvold) Johnson in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was baptized and later reaffirmed his faith at his confirmation in the Luthern Church. He attended and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1934.
On January 30, 1941, Ray was united in marriage toh Lucille Kind in Chisago City, Minnesota. After their marriage, they lived in Sauk Center, Minnesota where Ray was employed at Midland Coop. He joined the navy in World War II and was a radio man aboard ships and planes searching for Germain submarines in the Pacific. Ray and Lucille later moved to Belgrade, Minnesota and in 1958 they moved to Sherburn, Minnesota.
Ray was the manager of the Midland Coop in Sherburn until his retirement in 1982. Ray was a member of St. John's Lutheran Churh in Sherburn. He also was a member of the Thomas P. Saxon American Legion in Sherburn. Ray greatly enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Fox Lake Golf Course. He and Lucille loved spending their winters in Texas.
Ray passed away Tuesday morning, July 7th, 2009, at Temperance Lake Assisted Living in Sherburn at the age of ninety two (92) years.
